Million

Just a few months after its launch, the people at MDHR can now lay back and be proud of their work. Cuphead, the Run n’ Gun shooter inspired by the cartoons in the 30s has garnered no less than 2 million copies since its launch.

Studio MDHR has shared these amazing news through a blog on their website. “Much to our shock and amazement, we can announce that Cuphead has now sold over 2 million copies across all platforms. Even in our wildest dreams, we never thought our crazy little characters would be embraced by this many fans from around the world and we are continuously humbled by your support.”

They then go on to thank every single member of the community who has contributed on their success. I’m honestly glad that this is happening because the game definitely deserves this sort of attention. Unlike certain Loot Box plagued games, this game has the integrity you won’t see in AAA titles.

I mean, since the moment the game launched, Cuphead was destined to have this amount of success. We’re talking about a game that has sold over 100,000 units in just one week. Then, the game sold 1 Million Copies during its first 15 days in the market.

Some of the fans of this game are so dedicated that they have done incredible things to show their respect for the title. From beating the game with a DDR cabinet to making their own cabinet to play the game like an arcade. There’s just no shortage of amazing fan creations for the Ciuphead legacy.

Even though this title is so popular that makes it a cause for celebration. We still can’t forget that there are some godawful people who want to exploit the game’s popularity on the Android and iOS game storefronts. As a community, we definitely have to be on the lookout and help Studio MDHR deal with them.

I always wanted to be a journalist who listens. The Voice of the Unspoken and someone heavily involved in the gaming community. From playing as a leader of a competitive multi-branch team to organizing tournaments for the competitive scene to being involved in a lot of gaming communities. I want to keep moving forward as a journalist.
