Phablets are all over the place these days, with their popularity already rivaling that of the regular-sized smartphones. However, a lot of the time bigger means more expensive in this industry, which is why I wanted to present to you an alternative that’s quite a bit cheaper than most of its brethren. Meet the ZTE Blade S6 Plus, a recently released phablet with good specs and a low price tag that simply screams “must-have”. Generally speaking, the ZTE Blade S6 Plus goes for about 300 bucks or your regional equivalent, however, our friends over at Gearbest are currently hosting a special promotion that can get you the phone $30 cheaper than usual.
This is a bit of a hidden deal since you won’t find the discount listed on the website, but rest assured because it’s very easy to benefit from it. All you have to do is enter the ZTES6PLUS coupon code if you decide to purchase the ZTE Blade S6 Plus and you’re pretty much set to go. Aside from the fact that the handset only costs $270 thanks to the coupon, the retailer is also offering free shipping, which is always nice. It’s worth mentioning that the phones can get to you faster if you’re ordering from Europe as the units are being shipped from Gearbest’s EU Warehouse. If you’re not from Europe, the ZTE Blade S6 Plus will take a bit more to arrive and by more I mean 3-5 business days. Also, a disclaimer says the phone is a no-go for the Americas unfortunately. Sorry guys.
In any case, buying something just because it’s cheap is usually not a good idea. Luckily, the ZTE Blade S6 Plus can actually offer a great bang for the buck thanks to its nice specs and sleek design. What we’re looking at here is a 5.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 resolution, amounting to a total of 267 pixels per inch. Okay, so the resolution is not the best out there, but it’s nothing to sneeze at either, especially since phablets with 1080p (save for the OnePlus One) tend to cost an arm and a leg. Hardware-wise, we’re talking 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor @ 1.5 GHz, Adreno 405 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage memory complete with microSD card that can hold up to 64GB of additional storage. The ZTE Blade S6 Plus also comes equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery pack, dual-SIM capabilities, and a camera combo consisting of a 13 MP primary shooter on the back and a 5MP selfie snapper on the front.
Specs aside, you may also want to know that the ZTE Blade S6 Plus runs on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system with ZTE’s MiFavor 3.0 UI on top straight out of the box. When or if the phone can upgrade to Android 5.1 Lollipop is unknown at this time, but we’ll keep you posted. All in all, this device can hold its own again many other similar smartphones but for only $270 it’s definitely worth taking into consideration if you ask me. A downside may be that the ZTE Blade S6 Plus is only available in Silver. Hopefully, ZTE can fix that issue by adding some more color options in the near future.
