If you plan on doing a badass Mega Man cosplay in the near future you’re in luck because Capcom is now making the iconic helmet just so you don’t have to. With San Diego Comic Con 2015 just around the corner, the company decided that it should create a number of items inspired by some of their most popular video games and sell them at the event this weekend. Nothing wrong with that. There will actually be multiple items that geeks like you and me would enjoy, but by far the most interesting among them has to be the life-sized Mega Man helmet, complete with instantly recognisable blue color and pretty LED lights.
According to a post made earlier today on Capcom’s blog, “there have been many attempts at creating a wearable Mega Man helmet over the years, but it’s never been made officially. Made of high quality ABS plastic with a high polish finish, authentic proportions and details, plus working LED lights! A unique clamshell hinge allows the front and back half of the helmet to easily open up to comfortably fit your head inside the soft padded interior for a perfect fit.”
It sounds like Capcom designed the life-size Mega Man helmet for hardcore fans who like to have this kind of stuff up on display around their house. That said, any reasonable person would naturally just use it as a regular helmet and perhaps wear it at every single convention they could go to. If they can get their hands on it that is. Capcom hasn’t revealed a price tag for this beauty just yet, but the company advises everyone to keep an eye on their store “for a limited time Pre-Order opportunity.” Also, the Mega Man helmet will be on display at Comic Con so make sure to check it out if you happen to be in the area.
Aside from the helmet, the company will also be selling Ryu statues, Madcatz Street Fighter fight sticks, Monster Hunter themed clothing and a bunch of other awesome items.
