Starting today, the Digital Deluxe Edition of XCOM 2 is available to pre-order for anyone who’s willing to pay a little extra and also expects to receive a little extra in return. 2K Games and Firaxis are asking $75 for the special edition, a very fair price in my mind given the good amount of additional content offered. Aside from the base game, those who purchase XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition will also receive the official soundtrack and the Reinforcement Pack, which includes Anarchy’s Children, Alien Hunters, and Shen’s Last Gift. Those names probably don’t mean much to you all by themselves so let’s break it down a bit below.
Details are a bit scarce when it comes to Anarchy’s Children, but we do know that it features “Rebellion-themed content” and further soldier customization. Alien Hunters cranks it up a notch by offering additional gameplay, a new mission, more customization options, as well as new powerful weapons and armor. As for Shen’s Last Gift, we’re looking at a sixth unique soldier class with some interesting features and a new story-driven mission and map. XCOM 2 players can expect to see Anarchy’s Children next Spring, however, they will need wait until Summer for Alien Hunters and Shen’s Last Gift.
If you’re not particularly interested in getting the XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition but still want the extra content, don’t worry because the Reinforcement Pack will also be available separately for $20. Pre-ordering either the regular or Digital Deluxe Edition of XCOM 2 will also grant you access to the Resistance Warrior Pack.
XCOM 2 launches on February 5, 2016 exclusively for the PC.
