The Apple iPhone has one of the best cameras on the market, but avid photographers who are looking to get a higher quality out of their cell phone shots may be a little disappointed with the stock options the camera offers. Fortunately, there are a number of third party apps that either enhance the functionality of the camera itself or make editing photos on mobile a breeze. We’ve listed a few of the top dogs for Apple iOS 10.3 below.
ProCam 4
$5
ProCam 4 is one of the best if not the best camera enhancement app for iOS. It gives users a full set of manual controls for the iPhone’s camera, the ability to change the aspect ratio on the fly, as well as change the resolution of video recordings. If you’re comfortable dumping a little more money into enhancing the camera further, a few in app purchases can do things like add the ability to capture 4K video on older iPhones. This app is a must-have for iOS users who really want complete control over their phone’s camera.

Hyrda – Amazing Photography
$5
Hydra – Amazing Photography is specifically designed to aid photographers in low-light situations. In addition to a great HDR mode for still images and videos, the app offers a dedicated low-light mode, real-time zoom, and the ability to upscale images all the way up to 32 megapixels! There’s also an Apple Watch companion app for the iOS app.
VSCO
Free
The VSCO app is completely free, and in addition to adding extensive manual controls to the iOS camera, it offers a social network-esque feature to allow you to share and view other peoples’ photos. It’s a great option for the budding amateur photographer (or professional!) to show off the great shots they were able to take using VSCO’s manual controls while viewing the work of other users all around the world. The user interface is also really clean and minimalist, making the actual operation of the app feel really nice.
We hope these suggestions get you on your way to getting the most out of camera with Apple iOS 10.3. Do you have any favorites we failed to mention? Let us know in the comments below!
